Highlighting the March 3337 Double Rainbow
The Rainbow tournaments favor those who have many classes of Mechs. In a double Rainbow like this It meant some at Level 10 needed at least 4 different models, while the top ranked at Level 50 needed a minimum of 9 different models.
I had need of 9 Mechs, and had to use Red Ants to make the legal formation.
Unfortunately I was needed elsewhere during the scramble, so any shot at Medals were a moot point, but my crew at least managed to get me the footage needed to find this events winners had been:
- Div 1 23+ (32 Commanders): Yan Laflamme, Aeon (3m)
- Div 2 -22 (41 Commanders): Sherriff Wretham, Aeon (14h,19m)
- Div 3 -12 (26 Commanders): Kalevi Karvinen, M&L, Team Banzai (2h,43m)
Total Commanders; 99, Total medals claimed: 45 (from 45 possible)
Highest Level Commanders fighting in these divisions.
Div 3: 17, Div 2: 22, Div 1: 50
It was a small reduction in the number of Commanders who chose to participate compared to the recent Shocklite event, 3 fewer came forth this time. But all the medals were claimed
Fighting for the top prizes was largely done when the scramble arrived. The exception was the top division where the decision was reached 3 minutes before the end, the two other Golds were held for more than two hours.
Fighting for the lesser prizes were in general Close to nonexistent, (see below)
Medals held for more than 30 minutes:
……..Silver...…...Bronze
Div 1: 4 of 4...…..4 of 10
Div 2: 4 of 4...…10 of 10
Div 3: 4 of 4...…10 of 10
No succesful attacks on either of the two lowest tops, and in the top division it was the Bronzes that changed hands
For once we had a clan that managed to get two Golds. All hail the mighty Aeon Clan.
There was neither unaligned nor repeat winners.
Upcoming event: Dirty 30
This is an event where the Maximum weight of the Mechs allowed is curtailed. In this case, the heaviest Mechs allowed are 30 tonners. Any Mech heavier than 30 ton will be ignored when it comes to fighting.
Event ends July 13 between 2000 and 2030 New York Time.
