Highlighting the September 3332 Front Line Fight
As usual there was a Frontline Fight scheduled for the second rest day. Without any great hopes of success I had joined up, perhaps there would be fewer contestants than medals this time?
I had no such luck.
There were enough Commanders on K2 that one of us would leave empty handed, and the licence disparity where the others had licences 45-98 higher than mine had me as the obvious choice.
The fact that I was a specialist in the war made any moves on my part before the end of battle day two irrelevant, as my formation would surely be pushed down to the plains again.
Then the battle vs the Omegas Legacy came, and the frantic fighting there exhausted me. After helping clearing the critical and other wounded from their Mechs, the time who remained to the scramble was eaten up.
I hurried over to the mountain, and looked over the opposition. There was what looked as one slight chance there. Melissa Powell of the Mecha Pirates had a Warg on point. A quick look at her formation from the published fights revealed the rest of her frontline had consisted of a Reaper, two Fext and a Humbaba.
Not good odds, but I might just beat her.
Unfortunately, I had forgotten to change my formation, so my light 30 tonners were vaporized under her guns.
Cursing under my breath I was about to change formation when the robot question and test came up. I had to spend some time on that, and when I had changed to a formation that was better suited to the task and tried to return, the event was over.

Total Contestants: 338, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)
If you look at the participation in this event and compare it to the Fire and Ice we had last month, this was a great improvement. Fifty-eight additional Commanders showed up, and although the spread was uneven, (as many on K5 as on K2, K9 and K11 put together) all the medals were claimed.
My timepiece had the fighting end early, around the fifth minute.
On the upper half of the mountain range there were some brisk fighting the last half-hour, and all the Golds there changed hands at least once, one in the last minute.
On the lower half of the mountain range all Golds were held for at least two hours, one for more than a day.
I don't know if most Commanders were asleep or in sickbay after the second day of fighting, or if they just waited for the others to exhaust themselves.
If so the end caught them napping.

We can divide the tops into 3 Groups:
K1, K5 and K6 had pretty brisk fighting, and more than half the Medals on each top changed hands the last half-hour.
K2, K3 and K4 had limited fighting. While all the Golds changed hands, only a total of eight other medals did.
Then you have the six lowest tops, where no successful attacks were launched.
This was an event where all the Gold medals went to different clans.
The sole repeat winner was Dexter Berry on K1.
Upcoming event: Point Mech Panic
We had a Pointmech tournament in July as well, so most should remember the rules. But it never hurts to explain them again. The only Mech you bring that will fight is the pointmech (the one in the upper right corner of your formation).
Putting the best Mech you have, equipped with the best weapons and gear you have is essential to get a good placement.
As there is just one Mech fighting, trample, splash and forks is useless and should if possible be changed to crit-Kill, freeze, slow and perhaps burn.
Event ends March 1 between 1400 and 1430 New York Time.
