Highlighting the April 3333 Fire and Ice
On the eve of the Clan War another contest was announced. This time it was one of my absolute non-favorites; Fire and Ice.
The desire to stay away was strong. The preparations for the war was not fully done, it is perhaps my worst formation compared to the opposition, and in this case the regular opposition had licences 35-100 higher than me.
But the duty to my readers, and the win 4 medals in a row contest dragged me in.
Not that it did me any good. The competition were as I remembered from the last scuffle. Tough opponents in tough Mechs. I had brought some hatorades along, but it was a wasted effort. Of the total of 65 attacks I launched, not one brought me deeper than the 5th line of the opponents before my force was blown apart. In the end those who held the tops this time were:

Compared to the Ant fight we had previously, the number of Commanders who took the time to show up was reduced by 26.
There was also some disparity between the Mountains when it came to participation, and a total of 13 Bronzes from K11 and K12 was sent for resmelting after the award ceremony.
I blame at least some of those on the tight brackets for K11, only special invitees and those holding piloting licences of 18 or 19 was allowed in there.
My timepiece had the ending in the 16th minute this time. While the Golds are always coveted, some times those who hold them are to strong for the rest of the Commanders on the mountain to take them away. In this event there was about an even split, Half the Golds changed hands at least once the last 30 minutes, one of them the last 10 seconds, while five Golds were held for more than two hours.
But it was not only those Golds that Commanders clung to, a closer look shows that the number of lesser medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event was:

On three mountains, K2, K6 and K11, there was no successful attacks the last half-hour. K 5 had the most fluid situation, where only five medals where held for the scramble. K4 was the only other top where more than half the medals got new holders.
No single clan managed to get more than one Gold in this event. All the Golds went to aligned Commanders and none managed to repeat the Golden performance of the Ant Blitz.
Upcoming event: Front Line Fight
Here we have the traditional mid-war event. At this point of the war it is assumed most Mechs are pretty shot up, so Commanders are only required to fill the front line. You are of course allowed to bring a full formation, but only the front line will fight. To reflect this, changing weapons and shields having trample, and instead beef up the splash and fork department is recommended.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
Event ends March 20 between 0700 and 0730 New York Time.
