July 3333 - Daemon Deadline Chrono

Highlighting the July 3333 Daemon Deadline Chrono
Whatever evil son of a so and so is responsible for deciding what events to host?

Here I have a strong suspicion the latest climbs must have been paid for by the Illyrians as a ploy to draw the strongest forces away from the front lines vs Scipio Amelianus.

I joined the latest in a series of event featuring lower tonnage, a Daemon CHRONO of all things possible. But my force was not really made for getting top prizes. We were busy trying to contain Scipios forces, and could not afford to have tertiary ranked Mechs involved.

This reflected on my standing, as almost anyone could hammer my formation. Fortunately I had joined early, and those early scores were enough to get me a placement among the third tier of prize-winners in the end.
Those who got the highest scores and received Gold, Nephilax and invitations to harder climbs this time were:

  • Div 1 235+ (23 Commanders): Shawn Wretham, Warlock (+2430)
  • Div 2 -234 (15 Commanders): Melissa Powers, HF: Highlanders (+4670)
  • Div 3 -170 (19 Commanders): Robert C Goetz Sr, Death`s Collectors (+19880)
  • Div 4 -132 (27 Commanders): John Thorson, Northwind Dragons (+2040)
  • Div 5 -106 (28 Commanders): Yusuke Paul Okabayashi, M&L B.W. (+2770)
  • Div 6 -84 (23 Commanders): Richard M Howes, Heroes R.R. (+11010)
  • Div 7 -66 (22 Commanders): Jack Wade, M&L, Rogue Angels (+15040)
  • Div 8 -50 (16 Commanders): Mary Beth, Emerald Dragons (+11350)
  • Div 9 -41 (17 Commanders): Map Chap, UNDERWORLD (+6490)
  • Div 10 -28 (14 Commanders): Wilykat_, Karma (+17930)
  • Div 11 -22 (13 Commanders): DZHowes, Punishers Guild (+3290)
  • Div 12 -16 (15 Commanders): Lara Sherwood, S.G.C.B.B_T.S.R. (+15850)

Total Contestants: 232, Total medals claimed: 177 (of 180 possible)

4+10(2S)+8(1S)+5+8(G,1S)+9(1S)+6(1S)+10(1S)+5(G,1S)+2+0+0 = Two of the Gold winners, eight of the Silver winners and fifty-seven of the Bronze winners were overweight as the event ended.

Compared to the Point Mech contest, the number of Commanders who showed up was reduced by 80. This could be because of the format (either the Mech in question, or the Chrono) or it could be the raid needed all the attention they had.
Despite this, there was a pretty even spread and this time there were only 3 Bronzes sent for resmelting.

This chrono was pretty short as chrono`s go, and that normally makes the win margins less overwhelming than in the longer ones. This time there were six winners who had margins of more than 10 000, and five who had margins of less than 5 000.

Highest margin was on K3, where Robert Goetz Sr had almost 20k more than the runner-up. Highest total score was on K8 where Mary Beth scored 90 000 !
That is 72 placements on the top and no other placements.
Further down on the scoreboard, the margin between the medal tiers in this event was:

..........Silver to Bronze....Bronze to nothing
Div 1 ......1060 ................960
Div 2 ......2780 ................N/A
Div 3 ......5950 ................3800
Div 4 ........260 ................240
Div 5 ....13940 ................1860
Div 6 ......2140 ................6620
Div 7 ......1860 ................1520
Div 8 ......8870 ..............14640
Div 9 ......1370 ..............10620
Div 10 ....7720 ................N/A
Div 11 ......880 ................N/A
Div 12 ..10290 ................N/A

Quite close margins on some tops here as well, especially on K4 where the margins between both the medalists were less than 300.

No clans brought home more than one Gold medal, there were no unaligned winners and none of the Point-Mech winners repeated their performances this time.

Upcoming Event: iMountain
Again there is a named Mech event, and again that results in a split event as the lower tiers not necessarily have access to the Mech in question.
The general rule is: No Mech heavier than 30 tons is allowed to compete in this event.
In addition, unless you are on K12, you are only allowed up to two non-iMechs.

Recommendation for the two additional Mechs are; Novum. If you don't have Novums, the Commissar, Banshee or Trooper models should also work well.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.

Event ends March 24 between 2200 and 2230 New York Time.

Any fresh winners can try to get in touch to tell their story, the first to grab hold of me before the report is finished might get a few Niodes for sharing their thoughts.
