May 3334 - Point Mech Panic

Highlighting the May 3334 Point Mech Panic
A New event was coming up. Luckily for me it was a Point Mech event. After the disastrous war Star League had been fighting I couldn't have got much more than one Mech battle worthy in time to join up.

I had been kicked out of Mount Olympus and had to travel to a lower Mountain. But the snafu and red tape when it came to being admitted was as irritating as ever. I spent lot of time and presented my licence dozens of times before I was finally let in.

Once inside the arena I made a beeline for the top. Goetz Sr held it, but after a quick battle he gave way, and I stood triumphant on the top. That was probably not a position I would be able to hold however. The demands of a clan leader is many, and the scramble would come when I was tied up in delicate contract negotiations.

I got one of my trusted subordinates to take my position. He would defend to the utmost of his ability, but wouldn't be allowed to make counterattacks. Instead he was tasked with taking notes and getting footage from the fighting. As I later went through that material, I found the winners this time had been:

  • Div 1 234+ (30 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (Pike)(40s)
  • Div 2 -233 (15 Commanders): Mike Wach, B.S.L.R. (Fext)(6m,3s)
  • Div 3 -171 (23 Commanders): Robert C Goetz Sr, Death`s Collectors (Pike)(6m,26s)
  • Div 4 -132 (44 Commanders): Terry Harper, Northwind Dragons (Fext)(2m,21s)
  • Div 5 -102 (33 Commanders): David Sifford, Steampunk Dragons (Boreas)(4m,12s)
  • Div 6 -84 (23 Commanders): MamaMorgie, UNDERWORLD (Dilophos)(39m,9s)
  • Div 7 -68 (41 Commanders): Siegfried Gust, Black Star Bandits (Boreas)(3m,3s)
  • Div 8 -52 (29 Commanders): Naehan Montales, M.P.A. "Elite" (Nakshi)(9h,51m)
  • Div 9 -37 (14 Commanders): AuraFr00b, Borg (Smilidon)(12m,4s)
  • Div 10 -30 (25 Commanders): DZ_Howes, Punishers Guild (Fides)(50s)
  • Div 11 -22 (18 Commanders): wertu1, Borg (Oggun)(3m,54s)
  • Div 12 -16 (25 Commanders): Mark Stevensalo (Trooper)(3h,10m)

Total Contestants: 320, Total medals claimed: 179 (of 180 possible)

The after war challenge, where Commanders just had to have one working Mech, was a huge success participation wise. An influx of 44 additional Commanders showed up compared to the mid war front line event.
As it happens most times, the unevenness of participators on the various Mountains resulted in unclaimed Medals, but this time it was only one Bronze (from K9) that was sent for resmelting.

Three Mechs managed to win two Golds each; the Pike, the Fext and the Boreas. The sole Crystal Mech to get a Gold was the Oggun.

Nine Gold medals changed hands the last half-hour, two of them the last minute. Only two Commanders were unavailable enough to keep the top spot for more than two hours. But the fighting was mostly focused on the top prizes, as shown by the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:

.............Silvers......Bronzes

Div 1 ....0 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 2 ....1 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 3 ....1 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 4 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 5 ....1 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....1 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....3 of 4.........9 of 9
Div 10 ..3 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 11 ..3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 12 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10

Mount Olympus was the most fluid place to be, none of the top pilots were held for more than one minute. K3 and K4 also had a serious amounts of action. On the other end of the scale was K6, K8 and K12 where no successful medal attacks was launched.

No single clan got more than one Gold in this event, and no Commanders managed to follow up on their frontline win. One unaligned Commander managed to bring home a Gold; Mark Stevensalo on K12

Upcoming event: Cameron Chrono
No, no. Let me hasten to add, Cameron is the name of the Mech one might win in this event, not the Mech you must use.
This is a regular, unlimited Chrono where you can use whatever Mechs you have and can fit into your formation. As it is a Chrono, joining up early and grabbing points by being high up toward the top is highly recommended, especially as some of the top winners will get an brand new 95 tonner as an additional prize.
Equipment and weapons work as normal

Event ends April 23 between 0200 and 0230 New York Time

Any fresh winners can try to get in touch to tell their story, the first to grab hold of me before the report is finished might get a few Niodes for sharing their thoughts.
