Highlighting the February 3337 King Chrono
It was another event coming up, a long unlimited Chrono.
I am not saying it is my favorite event, you need to have either a very good formation or plenty of time to excel in these events. Here I had neither.
Due to the lowered entry requirements on most of the tops, (Mount Olympus for those of level 223-360, and K4-K12 for those of level 1-124) I was scheduled to fight on the fame intensive K3 against opponents who in many cases out massed, outnumbered and outskilled me.
In addition I had commitments in the Multiverse where I was questing for transferable prizes, and no time to run around trying for a medal in the Chrono.
But I did send in my team, one could always hope to get a prize, perhaps it would be a dearth of Commanders this time?
Banish the tough. I ended up second to last, but my team at least got me enough footage to determine the winners this time had been:
- Div 1 193+ (39 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Warlock (+43940)
- Div 2 -222 (15 Commanders): Bing Paculan, T.I.o.M.T. (+40040)
- Div 3 -166 (39 Commanders): Chris Zimmer, Northwind Dragons (+34530)
- Div 4 -124 (31 Commanders): Brian Vaughan, T.B. BlackWatch (+49710)
- Div 5 -104 (29 Commanders): David Sifford, Steampunk Dragons (+8540)
- Div 6 -82 (36 Commanders): Fred Smith, Black Star Bandits (+28970)
- Div 7 -63 (29 Commanders): Michael Myokens, Emerald Dragons (+30360)
- Div 8 -50 (18 Commanders): Jerry Jones, JP`s Rowdy Bunch (+58130)
- Div 9 -39 (20 Commanders): Recoil, JC`s Rowdy Bunch (+36760)
- Div 10 -26 (18 Commanders): Douglas Rainey, Punishers Guild (+33270)
- Div 11 -22 (21 Commanders): giles66, Karma (+36190)
- Div 12 -13 (18 Commanders): gudheg, Rest In Pain (+410)
Total Contestants: 313, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)
Finally there came an event the Commanders were willing to line up for. Not quite twice as many as in the Buccaneer event showed up, but the increase of 154 additional teams made this an event where every single medal was claimed.
As normal in a long Chrono, most of the winners were Clear long before the light flashed. The exception was K12 where the final margin was a bare 410 Points.
K5 was the second closest, 8540, all of the remaining winners had margins of at least 25 000. Highest margin was on K8 where Jerry Jones of JP`s Rowdy Bunch had 58 130 on the runner up. Highest total score (181 820) belonged to Dexter Berry of Warlock It was 570 above the four who was tied for second place. Lowest score needed for a medal was 4200 on K2.
Further differences in the margins between the prize tiers this time was:
..........Silver to Bronze..Bronze to nothing
Div 1 ....33240...….........5760
Div 2 ......1980...….....…..N/A
Div 3 ....13020...….......10100
Div 4 ......2930...….........1480
Div 5 …....360...….........1340
Div 6 ....11080...….........3350
Div 7 ....13890...….........2090
Div 8 ......9530...….........6940
Div 9 ......6600...….........2400
Div 10 ..14120...….........8180
Div 11 ..19840...….........6820
Div 12 ....9530...……...….880
On most tops it was pretty big differences, but there were some tops where the margins was so small that one who had joined a few rounds earlier might have gotten better prizes.
Here we had another event where no single clan managed to bring home more than one Gold. This time there was no unaligned winners, neither did we have any repeat winners.
Upcoming event: Cruiserweight.
Cruiserweight is a bit of catch-all phrase when it comes to tonnage. In this case we are talking about a top tonnage limit on Mechs of 65 tons.
The Megazome and Smilodon are my favorites in this setting, Fides and Novum should also do well. Then it gets a bit complicated. Cindron, yes but among the crystal Mechs one should be careful what one uses. Perhaps Daemon and Warg is the best choices here?
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
Event ends between 1800 and 1830 July 10 New York Time
Fresh winners who manage to get hold of me and tell their side of the story before the report is written might get some Niodes for their trouble.
