Highlighting the September 3338 Quadruple Rainbow
After two events where the heaviest Mech allowed was 35 tons we got one where tonnage was unrestricted for each Mech.
The restriction this time was you couldn't use more than four of each model.
I had due to recent events gotten invitations to K2, and after checking my appointments (otherwise occupied during the scramble) and the likely opponents (30-120 levels above me) I decided to sit this one out.
Some friends got me footage and scribbled some notes, enough to tell you the winners this time had been:
- Div 1 271+ (23 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (<1s)
- Div 2 -270 (16 Commanders): Dan Ross, Death`s Collector`s (2h,38m)
- Div 3 -190 (16 Commanders): Roman Himmelhan, Death`s Collector`s (11m,30s)
- Div 4 -146 (23 Commanders): Steve Nanning, Northwind Dragons (13h,38m)
- Div 5 -117 (38 Commanders): Jason Pedracini, Northwind Dragons (10h,58m)
- Div 6 -92 (16 Commanders): Edmund Dantes, Steampunk Dragons (1h,56m)
- Div 7 -75 (34 Commanders): Jack Wade, Sabbatical (13h,34m)
- Div 8 -56 (18 Commanders): John6402, Death`s Reapers (5h,22m)
- Div 9 -43 (16 Commanders): Elijah Sowers, clown clan (1h,31m)
- Div 10 -34 (18 Commanders): Elijah Woods, clown clan (20h,2m)
- Div 11 -26 (15 Commanders): James Griggs, Take-No-Prisoners (14h,12m)
- Div 12 -17 (15 Commanders): Argus Tuft, today and tomorrow (1h,24m)
Total Contestants: 238, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)
Seemed the change of pace was welcome. Compared to the recent Holmes Havoc, this event attracted 65 additional Commanders, an increase of more than a third.
The divisions were uneven, but all had (barely) enough Commanders in them that all the medals got claimed.
For the spectators, at least those who focused on the top division, this was an event that was well worth the admission price. The top price was decided just a fraction of a second before the end, and it was action going on all over.
If you focused on the other tops it was not so. OK, one other top had a change of top dog the last half-hour, but on seven of the tops the Gold was held for more than two hours. As for the rest, just look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....0 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 3 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 4 ....4 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 10 ..2 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 12 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Of the total of 21 Medals that changed hands, 9 were on Mount Olympus. And we had seven tops without even a single successful attack.
Three clans managed to get a double triumph in this event; Death`s Collectors (K2 + K3), Northwind Dragons (K4 + K5) and clown clan (K9 +K10).
No unaligned Commanders managed to take a top prize, and none of those who triumphed in the Holmes Havoc managed a follow up.
Upcoming event: Holmes Havoc Chrono.
Seem to be a split event this time. Overall it is a Chrono, but for those fighting on K11 and K12 the rules seem to indicate it is an unlimited event.
For those fighting on the 10 highest tops on the other hand it is a Holmes only event. Anyway, as it is a Chrono, sign up soonest, then get into correct formation and get the points needed to get a medal
Event ends August 30 between 0500 and 0530 New York Time.
