Highlighting the February 3331 Triple Rainbow
It was to be my last try on Mount Olympus in this cycle, and this time there were no breaks coming my way.
It was a Triple Rainbow, and when you are lacking eight of the top models and the regular opponents have at a minimum licences 70 higher than what you have, in addition to almost a dozen Mechs, the odds are definitively against you.
Nevertheless, I joined up. Perhaps there would be so few Commanders showing up that I got a medal by default?
That was not the case here, and as the number of Commanders present passed two dozens the situation passed into the realm of the impossible.
Not wanting to be present and give my crew the impression we were going to fight, I told them to hunker down and get some footage while I attended other business.
My crew did get some footage, but that was by automatic recording equipment.
They hunkered into protective positions, soundguards on, at t-5 minutes and didn't emerge until 40 minutes had passed. At that time the results were in, and the winners this time were

I don't know if it was the name, "smaller gateways", that kept many Commanders away from the previous climb. In this event the number of Commanders who showed up increased by 36, -more than 15%.
But the Commanders were unevenly clustered, and one Silver plus twenty-three Bronzes were sent for resmelting. I think at least the Silver should be blamed on the brackets, K11 was only open to Commanders of grade 16 and 17.
The bigger problem, low participation on the lower tops persists, it was more contestants on K3 alone than on K9, 10, 11 and 12 taken as a whole.
Without precise records, I cant say how long the scramble lasted, but it cant have been more than 30 minutes. Reports indicated mostly sporadic fighting.
Of course that didn't hold true on every mountain. Two Golds changed hands during the last half hour, one in the last few Seconds. But of the ten remaining Golds, eight were held for more than two hours, -five for more than a day.

But as shown, there were seven Mountains where not one single successful medal attack were launched during the scramble, and only a total of 26 medals on all the mountains in total changed hands the last half-hour. It could be those who held them were to strong to be displaced, and plenty of attacks were turned back, but another possible explanation is that the end time made it problematic for many to attend.
So for those Commanders who have no other urgent business during the scrambles, my advice is: Push hard, perhaps there isn't anyone there to push back.
David Sifford of Steampunk Dragons was the sole repeat winner this time.
There were no unaligned winners, but we had three Clans who got double Gold:
Steampunk Dragons on K 5 and K 6, Behemoth on K 9 and K 10 in addition to ButthurtMonkeyHunters on K11 and K 12.
Upcoming event: King of the Mountain
This is it. A do-your-best-with-whatever-you-have event. No restrictions on formation size, Mech types or tonnage. Equipment and weapons work as normal.
