Highlighting the May 3331 Ogguners
From time to time there is an event that lets me bring out old favorites when it comes to Mech models. This was one of them. Back in the mist of time when specialists appeared 50 ton was one of them, and the only Crystal Mech in that tonnage was the Oggun.
Today, that specialization have changed to 55 ton, and the Wargs guard the positions top dogs jealously. In the 50 ton class the Daemons faster weapon-acquisition lets them overtake the Ogguns eventually, (around when a pilots licence reaches 180) so this kind of event is about the only time all those carefully hoarded old veterans comes out and shines.
I got my machines ready eventually. There were some pilots who complained about meter thick cobwebs and inch thick dust layers. They were told sternly that it was in fact their responsibility to keep their rides in operational order, and asked when did they last make a qualification run anyway?
I had a couple Novums attached as scouts and headed toward K3. Once there the highest foothill was claimed, and my crew were told to hold and take notes.
As usual there were plenty of paperwork to take care of, so I had to return to the camp.
At t-30 minutes the situation had deteriorated, and a few attacks were needed to get back to the top foothill and striking distance of the top. Playing my Cards closely to my chest I wanted to let the others fight it out before I waded in.
Randy Taylor grabbed the top at t-6 minutes and I whistled softly. He outnumbered me by 8 Mechs, and had 450 tons, or 30% higher tonnage than me.
To change an old saying "aggression is futile".
I launched some attacks, but the contemptuous ease he displayed as my forces were swatted away like annoying flies gave ground for despair. After a couple dozen failures I sat back and hoped someone else would dethrone him so I could have a go at them instead, but he stayed put until the light flashed.

1+3+1+3(1S)+5+1+7+0+3+0+0+0= 1 Silver and twenty-three Bronzes went to overweight formations this time
Compared to the King Chrono, more than 20% of the participants (66) disappeared. The spread was again uneven, and in the four lowest divisions, as well as div 2, bronzes went unclaimed, a total of 16 this time.
According to my timepiece the scramble ended in the 25th minute. Four Golds changed hands during that time, two of them the last minute. Three Golds were held for more than two hours, one of them for more than a day.
While there were quite a bit of jockeying for positions before the scramble, the action during the scramble was, outside of div 1,2,3 and 7, pretty close to non existent as shown by the overview below

In four divisions (5,8,10 and 11) there was not one single successfully medalgrab.
Only clan to get more than one Gold was Knights of Chaos. They secured both of the Golds (on K6 and K7) in the last minute.
There were no unaligned winners this time, and neither was there any repeat winners.
Upcoming event: Cruiserweight
Here the heaviest Mechs allowed are 70 ton. You might use as many as you like of each model, but if they are 75 tons or heavier they will be excluded and leave a hole in the formation.
Equipment and weapons work as usual.
