Highlighting the February 3332 Oggunners
A new event was underway. Sick by the fighting in the Metaverse I dithered before accepting the challenge. But it was one of the classic events, Oggunners, and while my Ogguns was getting long in the teeth, my Oggun pilots was getting shortened in the teeth area (as well as in the hair, wind, eyesight and hearing areas).....
That mean they were a crankatous bunch, easy to irritate and almost impossible to mollify.
Finally, just to save some of my precious sleep time for the coming months I agreed to saunter over so they could get back in the mood (and incidentally get their brittle bones and big egos rattled a bit).
But we arrived early enough so no real opposition existed. Taking the top was about as easy as serving beer to a thirsty pilot.
My crew started cheering, backslapping and talking of showing up those young puppies with how REAL veterans fought..
I waited a bit until they started coughing and wheezing and sat down to get their wind back. Then I told them I had to return for meetings, conferences and stuff like that. They were to hold as best they could, and take notes and some footage. They stared mutely at me, but a couple had enough strength left to give me a thumb up sign to show they would comply.
When I returned at t-4 minutes they were on the middle slopes. The field were pretty strong. Eleven contestants had a kiloton or more; Mark Cassese of the HF Mecha Pirates, Ales Tomasek of the Sorcerers, Mick Coxon from Defenders of Bunny, Michael Beagle from Death`s Brethren, Robert W Quesada and Robert C Goetz Sr from Deaths collectors, Chong Chin and Colin Toenjes from Heroes. The largest contingent was from Star League and consisted of Caitlyn Mainer, Able Hunter and me.
My crew grumbled and wanted to launch an attack to claim the top, but they couldn't. My Commander overrides were needed to allow Blue on Blue fire, and currently Caitlyn held the top.
When she was felled, Able immediately avenged her, and when he in turn was thrown down, my crew were released. They had energy for one short, brutal assault. It was done quickly, and we were at the top.
I waited for someone to challenge us, so it would be some team mates turn to take the top, but instead it was shuffling and jockeying for positions.
Seemed the others didn't fancy our tag-team tactics, and wanted someone else to run dry on hatorades first. So they waited to see who would open the ball, and then the light flashed.

Total Contestants: 244, Total Medals: 163 (of 180 possible)
2+5+1+0+0+1+3+4+0+1+0+0= 17 Bronzes went to Commanders who had at least one overweight Mech in their formations.
Compared to the Ant-Chrono we had six additional Commanders present. Except for the narrow access on K 11 where only Commanders who had licences of 13, 14 and 15 were allowed, it was pretty well filled up. Still, two Silvers and 15 Bronzes were sent for resmelting.
It was a pretty short scramble, according to my timepiece it ended in the eight minute.
It seemed many of the Commanders had fallen asleep in their cockpits. Perhaps exhausted after the Meta, the number of lesser medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event was as follows:

Six divisions without a single successful attack the last half-hour, two who only had one successful attack each. But on K1, K3, and K4 the fighting was pretty intense. In fact it was most violent on K4, only four medals were held for an half-hour or more there as compared to five on K3 and seven on K1.
Four Gold medals changed hands at least once during the scramble, one of them the last half-minute. The other eight were all held for more than two hours, one of them for more than a day.
We had an unaligned winner; Adam Korbussa claimed the Gold on K11.
No Commanders managed to repeat their win from the Ant-Chrono, but we had two clans who claimed double Gold: Steampunk Dragons on K4 and K6 and Behemoth on K8 an K9
Upcoming event: Cruiserweight
Cruiserweight is a somewhat generic term. Last time we had that name on an event the Maximum Mech tonnage was 70. This time it is 65 ton Max.
I don't rightly know what Mechs to recommend. The obvious choice are Smilidon and Megazome. Second tier consists of Cindron, Fides and Novum. Then it actually depends more on what equipment one has. But Namtar, Warg, Oggun and Vizi/Nephilax will give a good fight for you.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
