Highlighting the March 3332 E Pluribus Unum (Single Rainbow)

A new event was announced, and I groaned as the format came up.

It was a collectors event (Single Rainbow), and that is among, my weakest formations.

For those who have acquired one (or more) of every model, this is a good opportunity to shine. For those like me who lack more than half the BFMs and Huge Mechs, it is a time to talk softly and stay away from the incoming fire.

I had a special invitation this time. So in addition to lacking the correct force, I was supposed to rumble among Commanders having piloting licences at least 60 higher than mine. 

I am willing to match my team against heavy odds, but there is a difference between taking risks and committing suicide.

This time I instead took some prospective clients to one of the surrounding viewing bars. The lines to get in are long, but my special invitation worked like a charm, so my group passed ahead of the rest.

Once in the bar, the group ordered champagne, (from their expense account) and when the scramble started, their attention was drawn to Mount Olympus.

I kept scanning the other tops as well, but the action on some where so slow that I didn't even get when the light flashed. There were no noticeable difference in the number of attacks (not) launched.

The winners this time were:

Total Contestants: 252, Total medals claimed: 156 (of 180 possible)

Compared to the Limited Tonnage event we lost 23 Commanders, and there were nineteen more unclaimed medals in this event. A total of two Silvers and twenty-two Bronzes were sent for resmelting.

I think the brackets can be blamed, at least for the Silvers. K10 was only open to Commanders having piloting license value of 23 and 24.

K2 had the second lowest attendance, as it was a wide range of Commanders who could enter, my guess is the fame factor is to high there.

K4 had the highest attendance, 42, ten more than K2 + K10 + K11 + K12 put together.

I have to admit the fighting on Mount Olympus was spectacular this time. Of 15 medals, four were decided the last second, two more the last minute, and only five medals were held for more than six minutes.

But the successful fights seemed to be further apart on the other mountains, the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event was:

On K11, K10, K9, K6 and K2 there was no change in the medal distribution the last half-hour. On K4 and K5 the fighting was almost up to Mount Olympus standard, and only four Medals on each top was retained the whole scramble., on the last 4 mountains a total of 14 Medals changed hands the last half-hour.

Four Golds changed hands the last half-hour, two of them the last minute. Five Golds were held for more than two hours.

ButthurtMonkeyHunters was the sole clan to claim multiple Golds, they had their double triumph on K10 and K11.

There were no unaligned winners this time, neither was there any repeat winners.

Upcoming event: Mountain of Fire

This is essentially an unlimited event, but there is a twist. All fire weapons deal 9/5 damage, so adjusting the formation (or calling out the saved Fire formation) is highly recommended.

Otherwise, weapon and equipment work as normal.

Event ends February 13 between 2200 and 2230 New York Time.
