Highlighting the September 3333 Ice Castles
This was another of the really rare Climbs that get held from time to time.
You know, when something is way out of the ordinary. Most still hold ththe Mighty Mountain back in November `23 to be the most special, but this was perhaps a close second?
The shogunate had cut a deal with the game commission, or perhaps it was the other way around? No matter which. The gist of it was a large batch of the Shogunate's latest (first) Ultra heavies were to be brought in as additional prizes.
Unfortunately the notorious pirate gang known as the Kanabo Krushers hijacked the shipment of Mechs and hightailed away, Shogunate forces in hot pursuit.
The pirates spread out, and when the Shogunate forces closed on some of them, they abandoned the loot to keep the distance.
Some Mercenaries stumbled upon these abandoned Mechs and brought them back as legal booty. Word spread, and soon the Galaxy was awash in pilots looking for these Mechs.
How many Mechs were in that shipment is unknown, rumors have it to have been enough for the best 25 contestants on each top to get one. If so there are still more than 200 Mechs not accounted for.
But another shipment of the Ultra heavies were brought in, this time guarded by the Prince of Irons reserve regiment. This shipment consisted of 44 Mechs, and as the prizes were listed for the various tops it became clear that the lowest ranked pilots would not be eligible to win one.

Another hefty rise in participation. 133 additional Commanders showed up, and one can Wonder if there will be more prizes soon if the rise continues. Unfortunately, the extreme narrowness of K11 where only those of lvl 14, 15 and special invitees were let in, led to 3 Silvers and all 10 Bronzes to be sent for resmelting.
It was a pretty long climb, and plenty of score rounds. Top scorer was Siegfried Gust of Black Star Bandits on K7. 178 750 is the sum you get if you stay on the top, and only the top for 143 measurements.
Highest margin of win was on K11 where Eric Beltran had a score of 52 030 more than the runner-up.

Best clan this time, and only clan to get multiple Golds was Northwind Dragons. They brought home the top prizes from K5 and K6 (in addition to most Charons)
We had two unaligned winners this time; George Woods on K10 in addition to repeat winner Eric Beltran on K11.
Eric Beltran is an absolute newcomer, but his actions so far point toward the stars. The previous event, Firemountain, was his first ever. He grabbed Gold there and continued by winning the Ice Castle as well. At level 8 he still uses the Palma Base who have room for only six Mechs. He have improved his missile skill a bit, but have a lot of energy for doing missions. Top weight he can pilot safely is still just 45 tons.
Upcoming event: 20
This is a tonnage restricted event. Only Mechs weighing 20 tons or less will fight. That is the Red Ant, Anzu, WarHorse, Shocklite, Axe bot and Commissar. You are of course free to use other Mechs in the formation, but they will just be empty spaces in the formation during fights.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
