Highlighting the March 3334 King Chrono
King Chrono....
The ultimate test of what Mechs you have in the formation, and how long you can keep fighting.
As soon as the event was announced I got in line to sign up. The Chronos tend to reward those that sign up early, in some cases even a weak Commander can score enough early in the contest to secure prizes they never would have gotten in a sudden death contest.
But there was already one on the top when I got inside the gates, and more followed. In a few minutes my formation was swept from the slopes to the lowest foothills, and not long after we was out on the plains.
Was that because my formation sucked big time? Well, compared to the competition it did. I was for my sins on Mount Olympus this time. Where almost all had at least 10 Mechs more than me, and in case of several, their Ants had room for more weapons than my Antithesis.
Not that they used Ants, they had top of the line BFM`s and any tries I made to come closer to the top was generally stopped by the opponents first or second line.
Giving it up as hopeless I told my crew to take notes and footage while I returned to the camp and administrative duties. A later review of the material revealed that the winners this time had been:
- Div 1 240+ (28 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Warlock (+48030)
- Div 2 -239 (20 Commanders): John T Mainer, Spirit of Bunny (+33190)
- Div 3 -177 (28 Commanders): Mike Wach, B.S.L.R. (+33040)
- Div 4 -125 (34 Commanders): George Warren, Northwind Dragons (+27250)
- Div 5 -108 (36 Commanders): Grego, PHOENIX (+49890)
- Div 6 -87 (42 Commanders): Chris Page, Death`s Disturbed Asylum(+56940)
- Div 7 -68 (39 Commanders): Hunk Grogen, M&L Rogue Angels (+6370)
- Div 8 -52 (33 Commanders): Jarem Launda, M.P.A. "Elite" (+12300)
- Div 9 -37 (20 Commanders): Recoil, JC`s Rowdy Bunch (+34760)
- Div 10 -23 (17 Commanders): AuraFr00b, Borg (+24490)
- Div 11 -16 (15 Commanders): Sophie Hall, we hate the chef (+63040)
- Div 12 -11 (18 Commanders): Mr_Gru, Jagdstaffel2 (+51220)
Total Contestants: 330, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)
The total number of contestants rose yet again, by 25 this time. Whether that was because it was unlimited, Chrono or the event was so long there was plenty of time to sign up is unclear.
For the first time in a while we had enough contestants on all the tops to award all the medals.
Highest margin to the runner up was on K11 where Sophie Hall had 63 040 more than Stephen Buck, highest total score was on K4 where George Warren ended at 202 210.
Further Down, the margins between the medal categories in this event was:
..........Silver to Bronze......Bronze to nothing
Div 1 ....11300.....................1080
Div 2 ........490.....................9880
Div 3 ......7620.....................1380
Div 4 ....26120.......................540
Div 5 ......5080.......................490
Div 6 ......7240.....................2820
Div 7 ......9200.......................220
Div 8 ....16560.....................1825
Div 9 ....11320.....................1420
Div 10 ..10800...................10620
Div 11 ....7560...................N/A
Div 12 ....9420...................10500
Not a lot of close shaves here, but where the margins are low one can see the wisdom of joining early. On some tops the differences were around 500, or about 3 decent score rounds.
No single clan managed to land more than one Gold, there were no unaligned winners, and no repeat winners either.
Upcoming event: Double Rainbow
Here you are still allowed to use whatever Mechs you want, but not in unlimited numbers. Ok, technically you can fill the formation using only Red Ants, but only two Mechs of each model will be allowed to fight, all others will only exist as empty spaces in the formation when it comes to fighting.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
Event ends April 13 between 2200 and 2230 New York Time.
Any fresh winners can try to get in touch to tell their story, the first to grab hold of me before the report is finished might get a few Niodes for sharing their thoughts.
