Highlighting the November 3333 Quadruple Rainbow
So when my aide whispered in my ear that a new contest had started, and it was a brand new format I hid an inward groan. There was simply no time to get a new formation designed in time to participate.
But I could perhaps use my Triple Rainbow? We had scheduled a short break, and I just might get my formation to the mountain and register before I had to return to the meetings.
Unfortunately, when i showed up at the entry gate to K2 there was some snafu.
I showed my special invitation, and pointed out that while the format allowed up to 4 Mechs of each type, it didn't require me to have that number. But to no avail. I was unable to register and had to turn back to the meetings.
I managed to get a call through to one of my team mates, and got a promise of some notes and footage. When I later studied the material, I found that the winners this time had been:

Total Contestants: 162, Total medals claimed: 139 (of 180 possible)
The drop in participation was severe compared to the sixty. Hundred and seventeen fewer Commanders showed up for this event. Reason? I don't know, but perhaps the newness of the format and the shortness of the climb might be contributing factors?
A total of 41 bronzes from 7 different mountains were sent for resmelting.
Five Golds changed hands at least once during the last half-hour, one the last minute. Six Golds were held for more than two hours.

K4 was the top who had most action this time, the only other mountains where more than half the medals changed hands were K2 and K8. On the other end of the scale was K9 and K12 where no successful attacks were launched.
Northwind Dragons was the only clan to get more than one Gold, they claimed top prizes on both K3 and K4. We had no unaligned winners this time, but we had 3 3epeat winners; Fabio Favaro of Warlocks on Mount Olympus, John Thorson from Northwind Highlanders on K3 and AuraFr00b who recently switched to Reapers of the Land on K11.
AuraFr00b is another of the latest batch of star Commanders. The first sightings was in the porktober `33 Ice Castle where a Bronze was the result. Then in November both the 60 and the Quadruple Rainbow resulted in Gold Medals.
At lvl 18 the base used is probably Egeria who have room for 9 Mechs.
While the energy level is high enough to do 13 runs on Yomi, there have been some improvements to both Lasers and Cannons as well. Currently the highest tonnage safely piloted is 55 tons.
Upcoming event: Triple Rainbow Chrono.
Here we are back to one of the regular Rainbows, the triple one. You may use any Mech model you want, but no more than 3 of each will be allowed to fight. Any extras will just show up as empty spaces in the formation. In addition it is a Chrono, so showing up early, and being high up when snapshots are taken to get the big points is highly recommended to get the best prizes.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
