Highlighting the April 3335 Single Rainbow
Another event came up, and as have been my wont lately I swore heartily.
First off, it was a collectors event (Single Rainbow). I simply don't have a full complement of the BFMs and many of those I have are not fully developed.
Secondly, while some were up to a dozen levels over my juniors, others had up to three dozen levels on me.
Thirdly, the scramble would be during one of the necessary command and integration meetings a faction needs to function smoothly.
But despite these valid concerns, a formation was cobbled together and I travelled to the mountain. The usual red tape was in effect, but it only took filling out the forms five times before we grudgingly was admitted.
Once inside the gates of K3, scanners revealed that many of the opposing Commanders still used their unlimited formations. Undoubtedly most of them would get into correct formations later, but for now it was an opportunity to claim a spot high among the foothills.
A few easy battles later, the top foothill was claimed. I contemplated gunning for the top, but decided to fortify the position my troops had taken instead.
Paperwork was awaiting me in the camp, so my crew were left to hold as best they could, and as usual take notes and make recordings.
Thanks to the fortification effort the crew held the position, and a later study of the footage showed the winners this time had been:

Total Contestants: 342, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)
There was a drop of 39 Commanders participating compared to the King Chrono, but the influx of lower ranked Commanders is a good sign for the growth of these events. For once all medals were claimed.
Four Golds changed hands in the last half-hour, one of them the last minute. All of the remaining eight were held for more than two hours, four of them for more than a day. The fighting varied from fierce, to ineffective, as shown by the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:

Mount Olympus was the only top where more than half the medals changed hands, On half the tops no successful attacks were launched.
While Jagdstaffel 2 did well by securing two Golds (K11 + K12), Arcana Dragons did better by grabbing three (Mount Olympus + K3 + K4). But best clan this time was the Brotherhood BlackWatch who managed to bring home an astounding four Golds (K2 + K5 + K6 +K7).
This time there were neither unaligned nor repeat winners.
Upcoming event: Missile Command.
This is essentially an unlimited event with a twist. A Commander is free to choose whatever Mechs he wish to use, and all who can fit inside the formation will be allowed to fight. The twist is that this time Missiles are much more powerful, and deal an additional 80% damage
Equipment and the other weapon types work as normal.
Event ends May 18 between 1500 and 1530 New York Time.
