Highlighting the February 3335 Double Rainbow
There must be someone in charge that hates me.
Another event was coming up. I had anticipated it to end a fortnight after the last, but this time I was disappointed. It wouldn't end for 22 days.
Drat and double drat. I had a meeting scheduled for the scramble again.
Question was if my formation could take and hold one of the foothills.
The usual two-hour hassle to get registered was there this time as well, but finally we were let in to K3. This time I was almost at the top level vise, but a bakers dozen had more than 500 tons on me. Some careful probing let me slip into the lower foothills, but I feared that position was gonna fall.
The good news was my long lost team-mate Tony Hooghem had surfaced after a decade of undercover investigations. He was willing to take notes and footage for my report.
He ended up in the foothills, I on the plains, and the winners this time were:
- Div 1 200+ (33 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Arcana Dragons (<1s)
- Div 2 -199 (12 Commanders): Bing Paculan, L/C/H/T (1d,18h)
- Div 3 -149 (48 Commanders): Leopold Hackenbush, L/C/H/T (28s)
- Div 4 -106 (23 Commanders): Chrisbob63, L/C/H/T (7h,41m)
- Div 5 -92 (28 Commanders): Yan Laflamme, T.B. BlackWatch (1d,17h)
- Div 6 -73 (31 Commanders): Bob Goetz, Death`s heroes of Dawn (1s)
- Div 7 -58 (23 Commanders): Leeann Robb, M.P.A. "Elite" (1h,27m)
- Div 8 -45 (13 Commanders): Sa Alice, Indepenent Players Group (9m,5s)
- Div 9 -33 (9 Commanders): Jeff Jamieson, Borg Faction Wars (4h,33m)
- Div 10 -26 (9 Commanders): Eann Monte, Punishers Guild (5h,56m)
- Div 11 -19 (7 Commanders): Draco_Dragon_, Skull Squadron (1d,15h)
- Div 12 -12 (3 Commanders): Astros, Borg Faction Wars (1d,11h)
Total Contestants: 239, Total medals claimed: 143 (of 180 possible)
It was a small drop in the number of competing Commanders this time, only five less than in the King Chrono. But the turnout was more uneven this time. The five lowest tops had a total turnout lower than K3 alone. Adding in the unclaimed medals from K2, a total of two Silvers and thirty-five Bronzes were sent for resmelting this time.
Four Golds changed hands during the last half-hour, two of them the last second. Seven were held for more than two hours, four of them for more than a day. The action was, except for the Gold fights, pretty subdued as witnessed by the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....0 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 2 ....3 of 4.........6 of 7
Div 3 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 8 ....3 of 4.........8 of 8
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4
Div 10 ..4 of 4.........4 of 4
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........2 of 2
Div 12 ..2 of 2.........N/A
A total of 18 medals changed hands, half of them on Mount Olympus. On 7 tops there was no successful medal attacks, on two others there was only the Gold attack.
Punishers Guild did well and secured two Golds (on K10 + K12), but Leviathans/Collectors/Heroes/Toys did better and claimed three (K2 +K3 +K4).
There was neither unaligned nor repeat winners this time.
Upcoming event: King Chrono
Just like the January King Chrono, only longer.
You are allowed to use whatever Mechs you can fit into the formation, but fully developed Mechs you have the skill to control are recommended. As it is a Chrono, joining up early and staying at or near the top is recommended if you want top prizes.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
Event ends May 14 between 1600 and 1630 New York Time
Any fresh winners can try to get in touch to tell their story, the first to grab hold of me before the report is finished might get a few Niodes for sharing their thoughts.
