May 3335 - Missile Command

Highlighting the May 3335 Missile Command
Another event came up. This time it was unlimited mark D (Missile boost)

My unlimited formation isn't that good, but the weapon types are worse. There is simply no way I can afford to keep top weapons enough for all my Mechs at all specialties.

What I do is use the best Mechs and compare the potential damage my various weapons can inflict on the opponents. A fire Mech having a big boost to the fire damage and a good flamer will for instance do more damage using that flamer than it will do by using a secondary/tertiary missile given a big boost.

Anyway, the formation was cobbled together and after the usual delay at the gates as we had to submit credentials an untold number of times, we were finally allowed inside.

There were plenty of Commanders there already, and most of them had serious tonnage on me, but I couldn't let that stop me. A few botched attacks later I finally got some lucky breaks and managed to get into the foothills.

A quick look at my calendar had me swearing a blue streak. not only was there an imminent conference, but it would last well past the scramble. Nothing to it, my crew would have to hold as best they could and get me some notes and footage.

The final standing this time showed the best climbers to have been:
  • Div 1 210+ (39 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Arcana Dragons (6m,17s)
  • Div 2 -209 (19 Commanders): Christine Mainer, B.B.B. (5h,13m)
  • Div 3 -151 (38 Commanders): Karl Kash, Death`s Heroes (1h,3m)
  • Div 4 -116 (38 Commanders): Justin Bertelli, PHOENIX (1d,1h)
  • Div 5 -94 (28 Commanders): Shawn Lindsell, M&L B.S.B. (5h,20m)
  • Div 6 -76 (35 Commanders): Nathan Justin Weiser B.G.B.S. (1d,2h)
  • Div 7 -62 (29 Commanders): Michael Moeykens, Emerald Dragons (17h,27m)
  • Div 8 -47 (17 Commanders): Baron Fish (16h,42m)
  • Div 9 -35 (18 Commanders): Anthony Cozzi, Borg Faction Wars (1d,6h)
  • Div 10 -27 (46 Commanders): Roy Hunter, Punishers Guild (1h,48m)
  • Div 11 -20 (45 Commanders): Astros, Borg Faction Wars (9m,8s)
  • Div 12 -15 (45 Commanders): Rick Sask, Borg Faction Wars (1h,58s)

Total Contestants: 397, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)

I had suspected we would get a drop in participation here, but instead an additional 56 commanders showed up compared to the Single Rainbow. Pretty flooded at the lower tops as well, not even a single Bronze was sent for resmelting.

Fighting seemed subdued, like everybody thoughts was on something else. Only two Golds changed hands the last half-hour while seven were held for more than two hours, three of them for more than a day. the lethargy was pretty evident below the tops as well as evidenced by the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:

.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 2 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 8 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 12 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10

Again, the only top who saw more than half the medals change hands was Mount Olympus, and on half the tops not even one successful medal attack was launched.

The only clan to claim multiple Golds in this event was "Borg Faction Wars", they got three, on K 9, K11 and K12. None managed to repeat their Gold performance, and the unaligned  pilot Baron Fish claimed K8.

Upcoming event: Quadruple Rainbow.
Here a Commander is allowed to use all kind of Mechs, but no more than four of each will enter the fight. Any excess will be ignored and turn as empty spaces in the formation.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.

Event ends May 18 between 2200 and 2230 New York Time.

Any fresh winners can try to get in touch to tell their story, the first to grab hold of me before the report is finished might get a few Niodes for sharing their thoughts.
