Highlighting the May 3336 King Chrono
Another event had been announced, an unlimited Chrono this time.
As had been the case lately the entry requirements was in my opinion severely skewed. The difference between the lowest entrant in the top division and the top one was about the same as the difference between the lowest entrant in div 12 and the top entrant in div 3.
Not that I was going to participate. The new implant I had gotten was still not up to speed, and Kickback would blow me up if I used any Mech heavier than a 45 tonner. As I was supposed to slug it out on K2 that was a recipe for disaster.
I had one of my clan mates bring back some notes and footage, and after looking through it I discovered the winners this time had been:

Normally unlimited Chronos are well attended. This was a short one, just before a war. Don't know what was the trouble, but participation dropped nearly 20% (by 49) compared to the previous Oggun event.
The spread was pretty uneven, while 33 Commanders showed up on Mount Olympus, the four least attended tops (K8, K9, K10 and K11) had a combined total of just 34.
This made it necessary to send a total of 38 Bronzes from the seven least attended tops back for resmelting.
As mentioned, it was a fairly short Chrono. It was also pretty hardly contested on most tops. Only two winners had margins of more than 10 000 points. Five winners had margins of less than 2500, two of them less than 1000.
Highest overall score in the event was 57 500. Fred Smith on K6, Jerry Jones on K8 and Timothy Harden on K12 all managed to stay on the top for 46 consecutive score rounds. Fred smith had the highest margin to the runner up, 25820, while the lowest score who gave a medal was 1300 on K7.
Fighting was in general quite Close on many tops, just look at the difference between prize tiers in this event:

Admittedly, on more than half the tops there was unclaimed medals, but when the margins get to the 3 and even 2 digit range one should see the advantage of joining Chronos immediately to get at least some high score rounds.
Best clans this time, two Golds each, was Northwind Dragons (K2 +K3) and Black Star Bandits (k6 +K7). We had a duo of unaligned winners; MatthwWest610 on K11 and Timothy Harden on K12. Bernard Johnson of Warlock was the sole repeat winner this time.
Upcoming event: Double Rainbow
Here a Commander are not supposed to bring more than two Mechs of each model. More can be brought of course, but all Beyond the first two will be treated as empty Spaces in the formation when it comes to fighting.
Event ends between 1630 and 1700 June 23 New York Time.
(Yes, it ends during battle day one, those who are Double Rainbow specialists have an advantage over those who are not)
