Highlighting the December 3336 10 Red Ton
Another event was coming up. 10 Red Tons (Red Ant Only)
I was unavoidably prevented from participating as my ship was passing through a part of the Galaxy without jump gates. Luckily for me, some friends had some footage to spare, and after looking through it I saw the winners this time had been:
- Div 1 199+ (33 Commanders): Jeff Haas, Warlock (2s)
- Div 2 -198 (17 Commanders): Chong Chin, Heroes (2h,52m)
- Div 3 -140 (22 Commanders): Darryl Proctor, Black Star Thundering Herd (1m,13s)
- Div 4 -106 (17 Commanders): Glenn Allen, Omegas The Next Generation (3h,21m)
- Div 5 -87 (16 Commanders): John Fox, Knights of Chaos (19m,35s)
- Div 6 -70 (18 Commanders): Donald Warner, Black Star Bandits (9h,25m)
- Div 7 -54 (9 Commanders): warhammer, today and tomorrow (19m,53s)
- Div 8 -44 (15 Commanders): Sandie Elgie, Death`s Acolytes (5h,55m)
- Div 9 -30 (10 Commanders): Rick Quinn, Night Hammers (6s)
- Div 10 -24 (13 Commanders): Rick Herlock, Night Hammers (13m,33s)
- Div 11 -16 (12 Commanders): Halo300020005 (3h,51m)
- Div 12 -11 (12 Commanders): Sebastien Genna (18h,59m)
One should have thought that when only 10 ton Mechs are allowed, it should be pretty easy to understand the thing to do is to have a formation consisting of only Red Ants. That wasn't the case here.
1+7(1S)+6(G)+4+8+2+4(G)+5+3(1S)+12(G,3S)+9(3S)+ALL12= 4 Golds (33%), 12 Silvers (25%) and 57 Bronzes (57%) went to Commanders having at least one Mech heavier than 10 tons
Total Contestants: 194, Total medals claimed: 161 (of 180 possible)
This was not a popular contest. 54 fewer Commanders showed up compared to the recent Dirty 30, and 19 Bronzes from a total of 5 tops were sent for resmelting this time.
Fighting varied greatly in this event. Half of the Golds changed hands the last half-hour,two of them the last tenth of a minute. The other half were held for more than two hours.
This variation showed for the lesser prizes as well, the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event was:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....0 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 3 ....1 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 4 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 5 ....1 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 7 ....2 of 4.........2 of 4
Div 8 ....1 of 4.........0 of 10
Div 9 ....0 of 4.........0 of 5
Div 10 ..3 of 4.........6 of 8
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........7 of 7
Div 12 ..4 of 4.........7 of 7
On K9 all the medals changed hands. And on Mount Olympus, K5, K7 and K8 more than half the Medals got fresh holders. On the other end of the scale was K11 and K12 where not a single successful medal attack was launched.
The sole clan to get double Gold this time was again the Night Hammers. This time from K9 and K10. We had two unaligned winners; Halo300020005 on K11 and Sebastien Genna on K12. None of the winners from the Dirty 30 duplicated their success.
Upcoming event: Buccaneer
Here is another Mech specific event. The Mech in question this time is the 40 ton Buccaneer.
Equipment and weapons work as normal.
Fresh winners who manage to get hold of me and tell their side of the story before the report is written might get some Niodes for their trouble.
