June 3337 - iMountain

Highlighting the June 3337 iMountain

On the eve of the `37 Clan War we got another Mech specific event.
This time the hero was supposed to be the iMech.

Back in the mists of time when I was a young(er) Commander, these events came into existence. Those who wanted could use up to two Mechs different from the star, and there was no tonnage restrictions on them.
I think my worst experience was when my full Ant formation was gobbled up by a formation consisting of 2 Ants and 2 Regis.
Later, the game commission imposed weight restrictions on the support Mechs, and today they are generally not heavier than the stars. In some cases only the star Mechs are allowed to fight.

I managed to sign up this time, but between the Multiverse, last minute War preparations and the need for some sleep I missed the finish. My crew however managed to get enough footage that I could find the winners this time had been:

[Highest leveled Commander in Division]

  • Div 1 [355] (24 Commanders): Jeff Haas, Warlock (2m,30s)
  • Div 2 [236] (15 Commanders): Robert C Goetz Sr, Death`s Collector`s (27m,39s)
  • Div 3 [168] (21 Commanders): Stroker Spot, Omegas Legacy (35m,8s)
  • Div 4 [131] (28 Commanders): Darren Jackson, M&L Blood Wolves (18h,55m)
  • Div 5 [95] (15 Commanders): Richard Howes, Heroes Shadow Brigade (9h,44m)
  • Div 6 [84] (23 Commanders): Polly Waffle, today and tomorrow (2h,59m)
  • Div 7 [67] (17 Commanders): Map Chap, UNDERWORLD (4m,16s)
  • Div 8 [51] (18 Commanders): Waitai Rihari, JP`s Rowdy Bunch (5h,11m)
  • Div 9 [36] (9 Commanders): DZHowes, UNDERWORLD (18h,50m)
  • Div 10 [30] (17 Commanders): Van Rudolph, Night Hammers (22h,19m)
  • Div 11 [25] (21 Commanders): Dizzy Cat, Night Hammers (20h,59m)
  • Div 12 [17] (14 Commanders): mtd, Evil Elves Inc (1d,6h)

4+11(2S)+10(1S)+6+11(1S)+5(1S)+9+8+2+7+7+2(1S)= Six Silvers and seventy-six Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who had at least Point Mechs heavier than 30 tons.

Total Contestants: 222, Total medals claimed: 173 (of 180 possible)

The closeness of the war drove 29 more Commanders than we had in the recent unlimited to sign up.
The spread wasn't to bad this time and "only" 7 Bronzes from two divisions were sent for resmelting.

The fighting for the Golds also picked up, the last half-hour saw 3 new Gold-holders, while eight Golds were held for more than two hours (one for more than a day).

Number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:

.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....2 of 4.........2 of 10
Div 2 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 3 ....0 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 4 ....2 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 5 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 7 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4
Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 12 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9

On most of the higher tops there was quite a bit of fighting, both Mount Olympus and K3 saw more than half the medals get new holders. Still, we had four of the lower tops where not even a single successful attack was launched.

Again we had a split decision when it came to best clan. Both UNDERWORLD (K7 + K9) and Night Hammers (K10 + K11)
took home double Gold.
We had no unaligned winners this time, and none of the unlimited winners managed to follow up with another triumph.
