Highlighting the June 3338 Selfsame
In the Selfsame events a Commander chooses what Mechtype he wants to use. The only Mechtype he is allowed to fight with is the one he have put up in the Point Mech position.
As many Commanders don't have enough Mechs to make up a full formation of one type, (at least not if we are talking about top tonnage/Niode Mechs) they will have to make a careful selection of what is their best choice here.
A few powerful Mechs, or a horde of lesser ones.
Those who seemingly made the best choices and climbed to the tops this time were:

Total Contestants: 220, Total medals claimed: 165 (of 180 possible)
30 additional Commanders showed up compared to the fourty we just had. While such an influx is always welcome, it would have been nice if some more of the junior Commanders had showed up as well. The top six divisions were filled up, but from the six lowest a combined batch of 15 Bronzes were sent for resmelting.
We had 3 different Mechtypes that brought their Commanders two Golds: Boreas, Ignis and Nephilax.
The Jadoon, Nifthel and Warg got one each and showed crystal Mechs can do the job as well.
I have to admit both the Ignis on K2 and especially the Jadoon on K3 came as a bit of a surprise.
Last Selfsame (May `37) Boreas seemed to be all over the place and claimed four Golds, but, quantity have a quality on its own.
The last half-hour saw four Golds change hands, one the last minute. Seven Golds were held for more than two hours.
The struggle for the rest of the prizes varied, as seen by the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:

Mount Olympus and K3 both saw more than half the medals get new holders. Then there was 3 tops without successful action at all. On most of the other tops the scuffle was mostly for the Bronzes.
Both The Brotherhood BlackWatch (K3 + K4) and Steampunk Dragons (K5 + K6) got a double Gold this time.
We had no unaligned winners, neither did any of the 40 winners manage to get a follow up Gold.
Upcoming event: Oggunners
In reality, despite the name, this is a 50 ton event. Any Mech up to and including 50 tons is allowed.
BUT. Unless you are fighting in K10, K11 or K12, you are only allowed to bring two non-ogguns to the field of battle.
Top recommendation is a tossup between Fides and Novum, then the craftsmen Mechs (Vizi, Nephilax, Zadok)
