Highlighting the October 3337 Limited Tonnage Chrono
One event type that is pretty challenging for some Commanders are the limited tonnage. Here we had one where the tonnage allowed rose from the lowest to the highest division.
Figuring out if you want a full formation of low tonnage Mechs or just a couple lines of high tonnage Mechs is a question of Mechs capabilities.
The worst thing you do is use a full formation of high tonnage Mechs.
Being overweight the gaming authorities disqualify your Mechs starting from the anchor Mech (Lowest in rear row) and eliminate Mech after Mech, row by row. Left to right, bottom to top.
That way you end up having for instance 5 lines of 3 Mechs fighting. If you had modified the formation and kept within tonnage, the same Mechs could have been 3 lines of 5 Mechs, a much more formidable formation as you concentrate their firepower.
It was also a Chrono, so joining up early to get the points needed for prizes was really recommended.

Total Contestants: 284, Total medals claimed: 180 (of 180 possible)
Participation rose by 20 compared to the recent Progressive Pileup. While the difference in division sizes were noticeable, at least all medals were claimed.
Siegfried Gust of the Black Star Bandits got the highest score this time. 128 750 is what one get for grabbing the top and staying there for 103 score rounds without interruption.
Highest difference to the runner up goes to Mike Slowenski of the Emerald Dragons who had a margin of 31 790.
Lowest score needed for a Medal was 4800 on K10.
Ten winners had a margin of more than 10 000, only one had less than 5000.

In some cases the results were clear cut, in other , where the difference was in the hundreds, the difference might well have been decided by who joined up first.
No single clan captured more than one Gold in this event. Unaligned Christopher Haag dominated the lowest top and none of the Progressive winners managed to follow up by taking a fresh Gold.
