Highlighting the September 3337 Progressive Pileup
From time to time we have some oddball events where we aren't allowed to use as many Mechs as we can Place in the formation. Two recent examples, The Front Line and the Point Mech. In the first case the lenght of the front line determines how many Mechs you can use, in the latter only one Mech is allowed.
Here how many mechs you were allowed to use were determined by the number of lines in your formation , and the lenght of them.
A Level 32 Commander would be able to use 10 Mechs, the same number as someone at Level 47.
I got my allowed 25 Mechs into a formation and joined up. Then some crisis intervened and I was unable to come back for the finish. According to the footage my crew got the winners were:
[Highest leveled Commander in Division]
- Div 1 [361] (31 Commanders): Bernard Johnson, Warlock (3s)
- Div 2 [238] (16 Commanders): Michael Coldwell, T.B. BlackWatch (13m,11s)
- Div 3 [158] (23 Commanders): Chris Zimmer, Northwind Dragons (1d,20h)
- Div 4 [127] (32 Commanders): Justin Bertelli, Phoenix (20h,31m)
- Div 5 [97] (26 Commanders): Yan Laflamme, Steampunk Dragons (1d,5h)
- Div 6 [75] (31 Commanders): John Ringo, Steampunk Dragons (2h,15m)
- Div 7 [62] (20 Commanders): Red Atkins, Steampunk Dragons (5h,58m)
- Div 8 [48] (22 Commanders): Jinx Alexia, T.B. 1st Kearney Highlanders (1d,19h)
- Div 9 [33] (14 Commanders): Pat Kash, Karma (11h,10m)
- Div 10 [25] (16 Commanders): BatManBW, Punishers Guild (1d,16h)
- Div 11 [16] (16 Commanders): Clayton Retallack (8h,28m)
- Div 12 [10] (17 Commanders): Jerry.Campbell (1d,15h)
Total Contestants: 264, Total medals claimed: 179 (of 180 possible)
Participation dropped by 52 compared to the two last events, but it was still a good showing, and if the divisions had been more even all the medals would have been claimed.
But they weren't, and one Bronze was sent for resmelting.
Fighting for the top prizes was a subdued affair. Only two Golds changed hands the last half-hour, one of them the last few seconds.
All the remaining ten Golds were held for more than two hours, five of them for more than a day.
But it was not just the top prizes where competition were lax. Just look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....0 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 2 ....2 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 4 ....3 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 5 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9
Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 12 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
As usual it was pretty intense on Mount Olympus, and it was some action on the other top half of the tops as well, but on the six lowest tops there wasn't even one successful medal attack.
Best clan this time was obviously Steampunk Dragons. While no other clan managed to secure more than one Gold they brought home a trio from K5, K6 and K7.
Two unaligned Commanders showed muscles and claimed the top prizes from the two lowest tops; Clayton Retallack on K11 and Jerry Campbell on K12.
None of the Point Mech winners managed a follow up win.
